lather, rinse and repeat. This is perhaps the most famous example of iterating. In paddlemaking, you iterate alot. Take a few strokes with a spokeshave. Stop. Take paddle out of vise. Run your hands along the shaft. Take a sip of coffee, or beer if it’s after five somewhere. Put the shaft back in the vise and do it all over again. Maybe a hundred times until you have slowly and repetitively crept up on the perfection you are seeking.
